There’s Mindfulness for stress, Mindfulness to beat illness, Mindfulness for Kids, and even Mindfulness for golf.

It’s bringing great benefits to lots of people but for many others, even the thought of sitting still and emptying the mind is a barrier.

How would you be enacting yourself if you were doing it better?

The Feldenkrais Method® offers a process of small, fascinating movements, while paying attention to the connections and relationships through different parts of the body. The movements themselves use the principles of neuroplasticity to quieten the nervous system and allow the reduction of excess muscle tonus. They give the conscious mind something useful and engaging to do. The  changes in the muscle activation directly effect our capacity to find balance and  connection with the ground. They also help to increase the available movement in joints and the sense of support throughout the skeleton.  When the activity in the body quietens, the activity in the mind follows.

A sense of calm, groundedness and balance emerges without effort.

If you’ve ever felt centered and grounded, you know that this is the state in which you operate more powerfully or effectively or slide gently into sleep.

Balance is not only a state of mind but also a state of body.

Come along to the Stratford Community Hall on Sunday July 8th and go home ready be a more effective you.

Your workshop leader Jenni Evans is an experienced Assistant Trainer in the Feldenkrais Method. She maintains a diverse practice working with people of all ages in Melbourne and runs workshops throughout Australia and internationally.
