This is the 4th year Turpin and Yen are offering “Insuring failure”. Yes, we do mean to spell it this way!
Jeff Turpin is a performer and musician. He has performed in Taiwan, Solomon Islands, Canada, Chile, USA, Europe and Brazil, and throughout Australia. He’s worked with scam, Broadway and Co, Circus Monoxide, Los Lunch Dates, Full Cream, Misfit, Phoenix Rising, and Florence Teillet. Jeff was Musical Director for CabaretRED at Woodford Folk Festival. Jeff has been a regular at the Mullum and Tasmanian Circus Festivals. He trained with Philippe Gaulier, Ian Reece, Tom Greder, Angela de Castro, Sue Broadway, Ira Seidenstein, The Creative Gym and PlayMoves. He currently teaches circus with young people. Jeff is proud of co-devising the dawn opening event of the Australian Museum.
Anna Yen is a performer and theatre maker. Anna trained in clown with Philippe Gaulier, Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre, Ira Seidenstein and Angela de Castro. Anna is a performer in the award-winning “Monsteria” by GUSH. As “Dumpling Lamington”, Anna clowns with the Playful Engagement Project As “Grandma” she’s enlivened many events including ‘Taste of Asia’ and Bundaberg CNY 2017. With Turpin, Yen performed “Hong Kong Detectives” for BrisAsia Festival, and The Case of All Things in Taiwan. Anna Yen teaches widely for schools, communities, universities, companies, festivals and solo artists. Yen is the recipient of a Churchill Fellowship, Matilda Award, and, with The Lamingtons /WMB/Griffith University, a Creative Partnerships Art and Health Award (Qld).www.playmoves.org
