Powerful Arms / Soft Hands
Two Feldenkrais workshops improving the use of your hands and arms
by Lisa Campbell and Ruth Frommer
Powerful Arms
Find how to use your arms more powerfully without strain
Sunday 23rd June, 1.30 pm- 5pm
To use your arms powerfully requires more than muscular strength. It requires co-ordination and connecting your arms to your large “core” muscles. Imagine being able to move heavier objects without strain or fear of injury.
In this Feldenkrais workshop you can discover how to:
- Generate arm power from your larger stronger muscles
- Reduce shoulder strain
- Discover how your arms can support your hands to move softly
Soft Hands
Discover how to move your hands more lightly with greater dexterity
Sunday 30th June, 1.30pm – 5pm
We use our hands in a variety of activities from grasping and carrying large objects to intricately playing a musical instrument, writing, or sensitively patting a pet. We have large brain maps dedicated to our hands and whatever is happening in your hands can affect the tightness and comfort of your whole body. By using your hands softly you can gain dexterity and a sense of comfort and ease throughout.
In this workshop we will use Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons to:
- Reduce unwanted muscular effort and tension
- Explore how you can use your hands more softly
- Enhance your dexterity, sensitivity and comfort.
Cost: $75 each workshop Where: 24 Station St Moorabbin
* Both workshops $140 by 14th June
